Management Team

Bill McKinnon, Ph.D.

Dr. Bill McKinnon is the CEO and Founder of Capitalytics. Bill has over twenty-five years of operational, R&D, and management experience in various domains, and his primary focus is identifying ways to help Capitalytics' clients, and bring useful services to the market.

Bill is a serial entrepreneur, and has consulted with several organizations including UltraInsights Laboratories of Denver, CO; Meggitt Training Systems (based in Suwannee, GA); Trask Research (now Nature’s Innovation) of Atlanta, GA; and Broadcom Corporation, based in Irvine, CA.

Dr. McKinnon holds an M.B.A. from Emory University, a Ph.D. from North Carolina State University in Computer Engineering, an M.S. from Clemson University in Computer Engineering, and a B.E.E. from Georgia Tech in Electrical Engineering.

 

Tom Smith, Ph.D.

Dr. Tom Smith is Capitalytics' Chief Economist, and has also been a Professor in the Practice of Finance at the Goizueta Business School at Emory University in Atlanta, GA for fifteen years.

Tom holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Tom is an expert in the areas of labor economics (including wages, wage discrimination, and lost earnings), pricing, sports economics and finance, the economics of the entertainment industry, the economics of the health care industry and film finance.

Dr. Smith regularly appears as an expert on national television and radio programming (CNN, NPR, Huffington Post) and is frequently quoted in popular press regarding trends in unemployment, inflation, international trade, monetary and fiscal policy, and other macroeconomic conditions.
